Edinson Cavani has a lot on his mind when it comes to his future, which remains unclear at the moment.
Depending on which media outlet you believe, El Matador could remain with Paris Saint-Germain at a 40 percent reduction in salary or venture elsewhere in Europe with Inter Milan, Atlético Madrid, and Newcastle United FC being possible destinations.
Nonetheless, it seems as though the 33-year-old will put that all on hold as he would like to focus on the UEFA Champions League campaign and domestic cup final matches, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via ParisFans)
“Inter must wait. He cannot accelerate, although Cavani is a player at the end of the contract and despite the fact that the Uruguayan has now understood that his time at PSG is over,” wrote the Italian media outlet. “Edi has informed Inter and all other interested clubs that he wants to wait until the end of the season at PSG.”
Spending his quarantine in his native Uruguay, Cavani will return to Paris and report back to training later this month. With Mauro Icardi remaining with Les Parisiens for the foreseeable future, it does spell the end for the Urugyuan unless he’s happy with a backup role.
Cavani’s future is up in the air, but for the next few months, there’s no denying that he will give the club his best as they attempt to win PSG’s first Champions League trophy and leave Paris on a winning note.
