Predicting PSG’s Lineup Against Monaco: Expect a Strong Lineup From Tuchel

In preparing for back-to-back matches against AS Monaco, Paris Saint-Germain has something they haven’t had all season—a full squad!

The first half of the season was riddled with injuries but finally, manager Thomas Tuchel had two training sessions this past week where his entire team was available as reported by Le Parisien.

For Sunday’s Ligue 1 match against Monaco at the Parc des Princes, only Abdou Diallo is expected to be unavailable as his recent return from injury is too soon to risk him. Everyone else though should be available to Tuchel to name to his squad.

With that in mind, here is who I believe Tuchel will start against Monaco on Sunday:

Formation: 4-2-2

Goalkeeper: Keylor Navas

Defenders: Juan Bernat, Marquinhos, Thiago Silva, Thomas Meunier

Midfielders: Marco Verratti, Idrissa Gueye

Forwards: Neymar Jr., Angel Di Maria, Mauro Icardi, Kylian Mbappé

The lineup should be very similar to what we saw against AS Saint-Étienne last Wednesday with the exception of Thiago Silva replacing Thilo Kehrer and Keylor Navas returning to replace Sergio Rico who performed very well.

This is likely going to be the starting lineup in the UEFA Champions League with the exception of maybe Marquinhos in the midfield and Diallo or Presnel Kimpembe alongside Silva in the center-back position.

Monaco is under new management with Roberto Moreno replacing Leonardo Jardim so expect PSG to show the Spaniard who the top dog in Ligue 1 is over the next two games.

The reason for the back-to-back fixtures against Monaco is because of the cancellation last month due to extreme weather causing flooding at the Stade Louis II. The return match will be on January 15 in the principality.

We’ll have more on the match so be sure to check back and follow @PSGTalk on Twitter.
