Official Lineup: PSG’s Feared Foursome Returns in Coupe de la Ligue Clash Against Saint-Étienne

Paris Saint-Germain thumped AS Saint-Étienne 4-0 last December and tonight, they have an opportunity to play Les Verts once again but this time the match is at the Parc des Princes and a place in the semi-finals of the Coupe de la Ligue is on the line.

Having held out many of his stars last Sunday against amateur side ESA Linas-Montlhéry, manager Thomas Tuchel opted to start Angel Di Maria, Mauro Icardi, Kylian Mbappé, and Neymar Jr. in a 4-4-2 formation that should yield plenty of goals. Here’s how the entire starting XI looks:

In the midfield will be Marco Verratti and Idrissa Gueye. Both started on the bench for last Sunday’s match and only the Senegal international made a brief appearance.

The back-line is a bit of a makeshift one with Abdou Diallo, Presnel Kimpembe, and Thiago Silva all out of the team.

Juan Bernat starts at left-back, Marquinhos and Thilo Kehrer are the center-backs, and Thomas Meunier fills in at right-back. Sergio Rico is in goal as expected.

This is close to a UEFA Champions League lineup so I don’t expect to see any let-off. While some clubs (*cough* Liverpool FC *cough) opt for reserve players to participate in these domestic cup matches, it’s refreshing to see Tuchel put the best team out there he can.

Now, we just have to hope for a win and no injuries. Allez Paris!
