Extreme Weather Cancels Paris Saint-Germain Match Against Monaco

Paris Saint-Germain’s will have to wait to play their away fixture against AS Monaco as the match between the two clubs on Sunday was postponed due to torrential rain.

PSG made the announcement on their official website:

“Due to the extreme weather conditions in the Alpes-Maritimes region, the authorities in the principality have decided to call off Sunday’s Ligue 1 game.”

The announcement goes on to say that approximately 1,000 PSG fans were expected to be in attendance at the Stade Louis II and that the club will work with them to exchange their tickets or offer a reimbursement.

For a team as snake bit as PSG when it comes to injuries, additional rest could be a good thing. According to L’Equipe, the match could be moved to January 15, three days after the two teams play at the Parc des Princes.

The next match for Paris Saint-Germain will be on December 4 where PSG will host FC Nantes, who were the surprise of the early season reaching as high as second in the table but have fallen to sixth.
