With several players out due to injury and other various reasons, Tuchel had to get creative with his lineup but he still fielded a strong starting XI.
Kylian Mbappé leads the attack with Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting and Angel Di Maria on the wings. In the midfield, Tanguy Kouassi starts as expected with Marco Verratti and Pablo Sarabia flanking him.
On defense, the fullbacks are Layvin Kurzawa and Colin Dagba while Marquinhos and Thilo Kehrer start at center-back. In goal, Sergio Rico starts in place of Keylor Navas who stayed back in Paris for training.
Ligue 2 side Le Mans should pose little threat to PSG but the match is on their home turf and PSG was upset in the tournament last season by EA Guingamp in the quarter-finals. That is surely in Tuchel’s mind and as he said recently, he wants to win everything at PSG.
This starting XI may not bring home the UEFA Champions League, but it’s should be enough to get a comfortable win against Le Mans. We’ll have more on this match so be sure to bookmark our site and follow on Twitter @PSGTalk.
