The international break is upon us and 11 Paris Saint-Germain players are with their national teams per the club’s official website for a series of friendlies and UEFA Euro 2020 qualifiers.
This is always a nervy time for supporters especially this season. Injuries can occur at any point during the season but it always cuts a little deeper when a star player is injured in a meaningless friendly like what happened with Neymar Jr. when he was with Brazil last October. Manager Thomas Tuchel is still waiting for his star player to return to full fitness.
The PSG boss has gone on record with his feelings towards the international break saying that he has a very big problem with all of the games players are asked to play. From a fan’s point of view, I certainly wouldn’t mind if Tuchel had the power to withhold his players from international friendlies.
