Is Sunderland becoming a place for former Paris Saint-Germain youth products to grow? The Black Cats had Édouard Michut on loan last season, and now they’ll have two players with a history at PSG.
First, the English club announced on Friday the transfer of Timothée Pembélé from the Ligue 1 giants for an undisclosed fee. The 20-year-old defender will sign a five-year contract.

Meanwhile, the second player that’s heading to Sunderland with PSG ties is Adil Aouchiche. On Friday, Sky Sports News’ Keith Downie reported that Aouchiche will be the Championship side’s fourth signing on transfer deadline day.

The FC Lorient midfielder, who has played for PSG and St. Etienne, also pens a five-year deal on Wearside and will reunite with Pembélé. Both players will look to be key figures in Sunderland’s attempt to win Premier League promotion.
Aouchiche and Pembélé are examples of PSG youth players leaving the French capital in search of greener pastures. Will it work out for them at Sunderland? Only time will tell.
