PSG Defender Lucas Hernandez Comments on Mbappé Situation Amid Real Madrid Rumors

The Kylian Mbappé transfer saga remains ongoing, and it’s not something the current squad can avoid. As a result, whenever they speak to the media, it’s a topic that usually comes up.

After Paris Saint-Germain left the 24-year-old off their team for the summer tour in Japan and South Korea, defender Lucas Hernandez is the latest to speak on the saga.

Hernandez, who arrived this summer from Bayern Munich, sidestepped the question, noting it’s not his place to speak. Nonetheless, playing alongside Mbappé at the club level is likely what Hernandez wants since both are teammates on Les Bleus

“I know Kylian very well, he is a great friend,” Hernandez told L’Equipe. After that, these are things that do not belong to me, it is more a question for the club. It is obvious that it is better to have Mbappé with you. We will see what will happen.”

The entire saga began when Mbappé recently decided not to trigger his contract extension option until 2025, fueling speculations of a potential move away from the French capital.

Furthermore, PSG management believes Mbappé might have a pre-agreement with Real Madrid. The Ligue 1 side cannot afford to lose, so it prompts them to sell the superstar forward this summer to avoid losing him as a free agent next year.

PSG only has a few weeks to resolve the situation with the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner and now having it linger into this 2023-24 season.
