The future of Mauro Icardi at Paris Saint-Germain has been much in question over the past two seasons. The Argentine forward was linked with clubs such as Juventus last season, but in the end, he stayed put at PSG past the recent summer transfer window. More so, he has also been linked with Atletico Madrid as of late.
According to RMC Sport, there is a “trend” for the departure of Icardi from PSG.
A person close to the PSG locker room noted to RMC Sport that Icardi is a “man who doesn’t have his head in football at the moment” and that “he has trouble recovering from what happened off the field in recent months,” which include being accused by his wife, Wanda Nara, of having an affair.
However, the report further notes that there is a potential roadblock in the possible departure of Icardi, as there could be difficulty from PSG in finding a club “capable of matching his contract.”
The Argentine has scored five goals in all competitions so far this season.
