Atletico Madrid is set to face a notable dilemma in the upcoming summer transfer window regarding its attacking depth, and it now views Paris Saint-Germain forward Mauro Icardi as a possible solution to this matter.
As noted by the Spanish-based outlet Todofichajes, Atletico Madrid club officials are eyeing a move for Icardi as a potential replacement for veteran striker Luis Suarez.
The report adds that Atletico Madrid officials see that the Uruguayan forward is on the verge of leaving the club over the upcoming summer transfer window as a free agent. He is set to “embark” on a move to Major League Soccer.
As a result, Atletico Madrid is eyeing a move for Icardi, a player who is not in the “plans” of PSG manager Mauricio Pochettino.
More so, the reigning La Liga champions have already maintained contacts with Icardi’s entourage and are open to signing him.
Overall, Icardi has two more years remaining on his current contract deal with PSG.
