Galatasaray is on the verge of securing a permanent deal for Mauro Icardi following the Argentine striker’s successful loan spell with the Turkish club during the 2022-23 season.

Sources confirmed to journalist Fabrizio Romano on Sunday that an agreement is in place. All that’s pending for the completion of the transfer is the necessary documents.

Paris Saint-Germain is preparing to give the green light to put the deal over the finish line. Meanwhile, Icardi has already agreed to personal terms with Galatasaray. The transfer fee is expected to be around €10 million.

Negotiations between Galatasaray and PSG began when the French club’s asking price for Icardi was initially close to €25 million and when the cost decreased to €22 million.

However, Galatasaray’s persistent efforts have resulted in a breakthrough, with a deal finalized for a significantly reduced fee of €10 million.

Icardi’s contributions during his loan spell impressed the Turkish club. The 30-year-old scored 23 goals and eight assists in 26 appearances in all competitions to help Galatasaray win the league title.
