Not many expected to see Paris Saint-Germain push to sign a goalkeeper ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window.
Nonetheless, PSG is on the verge of signing soon-to-be former AC Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma to a free transfer deal.
PSG is not slated to loan out Donnarumma once he signs with the club, as the side instead plans to grant him the opportunity to become the team’s starting goalkeeper next season.
However, current PSG starting goalkeeper Keylor Navas may not be all in with competing against the Italian talent.
As noted by the Italian-based outlet Tuttosport (via Le10Sport), Navas is now open to a loan move.
Navas does not want to see unfold what transpired in his final season with Real Madrid, where he subsequently became the backup goalkeeper even as he still had plenty left in the tank.
As a result, Navas would prefer to sign off on a one-season loan move over having to sit behind Donnarumma on the depth chart.
Navas has three seasons remaining on his current contract deal with PSG.
