Former Portuguese Striker is Rooting for Mbappe to Win the Champions League and Ballon d’Or While at PSG

Former Portuguese striker Pauleta is on board with Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe joining the prestigious ranks in world football by winning the UEFA Champions League and Ballon d’Or.

Mbappe has won numerous trophies and individual awards in his career. But still, Mbappe has not won the Champions League or Ballon d’Or. The French forward came close to winning the Champions League last season, but his PSG side was defeated in the final by FC Bayern Munich. On the other hand, Mbappe’s highest finish for the Ballon d’Or has been a fourth-place finish, which came in 2018.

Pauleta is rooting (via Telefoot) for Mbappe to soon claim these highly coveted honors.

“I hope he will win a Champions League for PSG,” Pauleta said. “And he will win Ballon d’Or. If he can do all of that, he is going to be the most loved, most important player in the history of PSG.”

For the moment, PSG is projected to continue to be a yearly contender for the Champions League. And as long as he can stay healthy, Mbappe will remain among the expected favorites to win the Ballon d’Or for the rest of his prime days, whether with PSG or at another club.
