Former Paris Saint-Germain forward Nicolas Anelka has a documentary on Netflix titled Anelka: Misunderstood. The movie documents the life of the 41-year-old, but with a heavy focus on his playing career, which included two stints with the capital club.
As a teenager, Anelka came up through the PSG youth system, where he made ten appearances and scored one goal before his controversial departure from the club that saw him land with Arsenal FC.
The France international returned to Paris for a second stint with Les Parisiens; however, that didn’t last long as he made only 39 appearances over two years before being loaned out to Liverpool FC due to a fallout with then manager Luis Fernández.
Now the former youth product is looking to get back into football as a manager. In an interview with Le Parisien, the French media outlet brought up a hypothetical about managing the capital club one day.
“I’m passing my coaching degrees and giving myself one or two years to enter this new role,” Anelka said. “To train PSG one day? You should never say never, but leading PSG requires experience, a track record, and a coaching experience that I do not have.”
