Report: Arsenal in the Lead to Sign PSG Defender

Transfer speculation linking Paris Saint-Germain left-back Layvin Kurzawa to Arsenal FC is nothing new. The Frenchman was close to joining the Gunners last January but a deal never materialized. With his contract set to expire at the end of the season, Kurzawa can leave on a free transfer and the North London club is once again after his signature.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport (via Culture PSG), Arsenal is in the pole position to sign Kurzawa who will leave the French capital after five years of service.

Arsenal will have some competition to sign Kurzawa. The report out of Italy revealed that Inter Milan are keen on bringing the former AS Monaco man to Serie A.

Kurzawa never really developed into a reliable starter while at PSG so his departure isn’t necessarily mourned by supporters. He does leave a hole in the squad in terms of a backup for Juan Bernat, which is why Leonardo, PSG’s sporting director, has prioritized a left-back when the transfer window opens.

If Kurzawa never plays for PSG again, he would have recorded 13 goals and 21 assists in 123 appearances.
