Mbappé Laughs Off Sideline Altercation With Tuchel on Social Media

Everyone seems to have an opinion about what Kylian Mbappé did on Saturday during a match against Montpellier HSC.

In the 68th minute, the Frenchman was taken off by manager Thomas Tuchel and replaced with Mauro Icardi. Mbappé was visibly upset and tried to push his way past Tuchel who was trying to explain his decision. Then, Mbappé sulked on the bench as he watched Paris Saint-Germain hold onto their 5-0 lead.

After the final whistle, Tuchel expressed his frustration with his star striker in front of the media and on Sunday, the two sat down with PSG sporting director, Leonardo, to clear the air and presumably, make sure this doesn’t keep happening.

The talk appears to have worked if you read into Mbappé’s response to a fan on social media late on Sunday evening.

While attending Blaise Matuidi’s gala at Disneyland Paris, Mbappé posted a photo of him sitting with teammate Presnel Kimpembe and Tchaga, a hair artist in Paris.

A fan saw the post and posted a clever response that referenced the sideline incident against Montpellier.

“For once you’re happy to go out,” the fan said.

Mbappé saw the comment and responded with three crying laughing emojis.

It’s good that Mbappé can have a sense of humor about what happened and indicates that he has likely moved on and won’t be a distraction moving forward.

If true, that would be ideal because PSG has to play four games before traveling to Germany to play Borussia Dortmund in the Round of 16 of the UEFA Champions League.
