Video: Marco Verratti Forgets the Rules of Football; Attempts to Tackle Lille Player

Marco Verratti has a lot of traits that make him one of the best midfielders in the world. His tenacity is one of them but sometimes, his aggression can get him into trouble.

Paris Saint-Germain defeated Lille OSC 2-0 at the Stade Pierre Mauroy thanks to a brace from Neymar Jr. but there was a brief moment involving Verratti that caught the eye of several PSG supporters on social media.

In an effort to slow down Lille’s Jonathan Bamba, Verratti attempted to take down the Frenchman by hitting his knees and then sliding down to his feet. Unfortunately, the 5’5″ Verratti was unable to bring down the Lille forward but it was a nice effort nonetheless.

Incredibly, the Italy international avoided receiving a yellow card for his actions. Hopefully, we’ll see that kind of lenient officiating in the UEFA Champions League knockout phase.
