Paris Saint-Germain have been closely monitoring Bayern Munich midfielder Joshua Kimmich for months, even nearly signing him last summer. However, Bayern remains confident in its efforts to extend the veteran’s contract with the latest update proving them right.

Barcelona are reportedly eyeing Kimmich and Bayer Leverkusen defender Jonathan Tah as they look to strengthen both their midfield and defense ahead of the 2025 season.

Journalists Christian Falk and Tobi Altschäffl report that Bayern Munich has given up on convincing Kimmich to accept a pay cut from his current €20 million annual salary.

With his contract set to expire next year and increasing interest from top clubs, it now seems unlikely that Kimmich will agree to a reduced deal.

Sky Sports Germany’s Florian Plettenberg reports that negotiations between Bayern Munich and Joshua Kimmich are progressing smoothly, with the contract extension expected to be finalized in the next few days.

Kimmich is set to sign a new top-tier deal that could keep him at the club until at least 2028, though a few final details are still being worked out.

This news comes after TEAMtalk reported that Liverpool and Manchester City want to sign Kimmich during the summer transfer window. However, neither club is making him their top priority, with both looking into other options.
