Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain are set to face off next week on Matchday 2 of the UEFA Champions League. However, the Gunners will be without their captain, Martin Ødegaard.

The recent FIFA international window hasn’t been kind to Arsenal, as Ødegaard is dealing with injury concerns. According to Le Parisien, he’s likely to miss the Champions League clash against PSG on October 1.

When the injury happened, Norway’s national team doctor estimated that Ødegaard would need at least three weeks to recover from his ankle injury. Arsenal have played well without Ødegaard and nearly came out with a win against Manchester City last weekend.

Ahead of the clash, Football Transfer’s Robin Bairner appeared on the latest PSG Talking podcast and noted what type of match he expects from the two sides.

“I think I’m going to go for a draw in that game,” Bairner said. “I think it’ll probably be one each. What we’ll see is probably two relatively conservative teams. Because of the way the Champions League set up this year, I know there’s been so much talk about there being so many more big clashes, but equally, because you’re playing so many weaker teams in these big games.”

The Gunners will have two matches: Wednesday’s against Bolton Wanderers and Saturday’s against Leicester City. Meanwhile, the Parisians will face Stade Rennais on Saturday.
