Real Madrid Remain Interested in Barcelona, PSG Target to Replace Retiring Toni Kroos

Real Madrid will lose Toni Kroos after this weekend, as the German standout is retiring from football. As a result, the La Liga team will have to figure out how to replace him this summer for next season.

With one German player leaving, could another be on the way? Bayern Munich standout Joshua Kimmich will be a hot commodity for clubs looking to bolster their midfield.

In recent weeks, Kimmich has been linked to FC Barcelona, Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain, and Real Madrid. Moreover, the 29-year-old’s current contract expires in 2025, so Bayern Munich must decide whether to extend or sell.

According to Bild (h/t Mundo Deportivo), Real Madrid are interested in Kimmich. Barcelona is also considering him as a potential replacement for Kroos, who is set to play his final game for Real Madrid this Saturday.

A new report shows that Manchester City is eyeing an opportunity to benefit from Kimmich’s increasing dissatisfaction at Bayern, particularly after Thomas Tuchel took over at the Allianz Arena.

Back when Kimmich was brought to Bayern Munich from RB Leipzig, he was under the guidance of City manager Pep Guardiola. Now, Guardiola is eager about the chance to reunite with the adaptable midfielder at the Etihad Stadium.
