The status of FC Barcelona midfielder Pedri is the topic of discussion, considering he’d add a boost to their squad. However, one journalist believes that the young Spanish player won’t be suiting up on Wednesday at the Parc des Princes when Barcelona face PSG in the first leg.
Last Saturday was a crucial day for Pedri as Diario AS reported on Saturday the status of how those within the Spanish club are feeling about the young star.
The report notes that Pedri didn’t complete the training, doing little more than half. Additionally, everything indicates that the Spanish player won’t be included in the squad for the Champions League quarterfinal first leg.
Journalist Frédéric Hermel stated that he doesn’t see Barcelona taking a risk with Pedri, knowing that the player’s injury since the Barcelona-PSG clash promises to be an intense match.
“Because it’s a muscular injury and we know very well that Pedri is muscularly fragile, and we don’t see how they would take such risks in such an intense match,” Hermel said on RMC Sport (h/t Le10Sport).
Pedri will likely be available for the second leg when the scene shifts to Spain, as both teams aim to secure their ticket to the semifinals.
