Barcelona Midfielder Hit by Setback Days Before Crucial UCL Clash with PSG

FC Barcelona will travel to face Paris Saint-Germain for the first leg of their UEFA Champions League quarterfinal tie. While the Spanish giants will have a boost in their midfield, it might not be enough to start the match.

Over the last few days, Frenkie de Jong’s status for the match has been widely reported, and on Sunday, new information revealed that the Catalan side will have the Dutchman. However, there’s a catch.

According to Spanish media outlet SPORT, starting against PSG will be difficult for de Jong. As a result, manager Xavi Hernandez might have to develop a midfield without the Dutchman, but the silver lining is that the player could come in the second half for any tactical adjustments.

On the other side of the pitch, PSG already might have their attack figured out as a report from Le Parisien tells. The French media outlet notes that Kang-in Lee will start alongside Mbappé and Dembélé against Barcelona.

The 22-year-old came over from La Liga last summer from Mallorca, so he’s probably familiar with playing against the Spanish giants. So, it will be interesting to see if that decision pays off.
