Man City Glad to See PSG Superstar Leave for Real Madrid This Summer

Manchester City reportedly feels relieved that Kylian Mbappé will be moving to Real Madrid from Paris Saint-Germain this summer. The Frenchman is leaving the capital club after the end of this season as a free agent to begin a new chapter in his career.

The 25-year-old will move to the Spanish giants in a few months, with the saga over his future finally poised to end. Nonetheless, that outcome is favorable for the Premier League club, who believe it can now keep its star player.

French journalist Julien Laurens reports (h/t GOAL) that Manchester City rejoiced at Mbappé’s impending move to the Santiago Bernabeu as it indicates they won’t be able to finance a deal for their star player, Erling Haaland.

The Norwegian talent has often been rumored as a potential Galactico, and he recently declined to rule out any possible move when questioned earlier this week. However, a summer transfer now seems unattainable.

On Tuesday night at Reale Arena, Paris Saint-Germain defeated Real Sociedad 4-1 on aggregate to reach the UEFA Champions League quarterfinals. Mbappé stole the spotlight in the Parisians’ 2-1 away victory in the second leg, scoring a brace and propelling the capital club to the next round.
