PSG Chief Praises Superstar’s Brilliance as Brace Secures Champions League Quarterfinal Berth

Paris Saint-Germain advanced to the UEFA Champions League quarterfinals after defeating Real Sociedad 4-1 on aggregate on Tuesday night at Reale Arena.

Kylian Mbappé was the star of the show in the 2-1 road second-leg win for the Parisians. The 25-year-old scored a brace, and the capital club is off to the next round.

After the match, PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaïfi spoke with Canal+ and praised the 25-year-old while noting it’s the type of performance he expects from the best player in the world.

“Kylian, he’s Kylian, one of the best players in the world, and the whole team played very well too,” Al-Khelaïfi told the French media outlet (h/t Paris Fans).

“He scored two goals. Everyone played well, and we want to build something for the future, which is what the coach desires. It’s a style of play, and this match is what we aim for in the future. We want players to run for each other, and we’re very pleased with that.”

Manager Luis Enrique discussed the Frenchman in his post-game commentary. He reiterated the need for the squad to adapt to playing without Mbappé. Whether he’s preparing his team for future challenges or simply teasing the media remains unclear.

Nevertheless, the next step for the group is to focus on preparing for the quarterfinals. Regardless of their opponent, it will be a tough match as they vie for a spot in the semifinals.
