At FC Barcelona, they are astonished at the prices Paris Saint-Germain is setting for tickets to the first leg of the Champions League quarterfinal on April 10. Not just for those available to the public, but also for those the club may request beyond the essential ones for executives.
SPORT reported on Monday that beyond the tickets that the French club will provide to Barça’s top management, if the entity led by Joan Laporta needs ‘extra’ tickets to cover favors or commitments with relatives or other club employees, it would have to pay more than a hefty price: €600. This is the price that PSG will charge Barça for each ticket request.
The Barcelona board has been incredulous. It understands that this is the most important match of the season, so it’s logical that the traveling Barça delegation to the French capital is relatively large.
It seems that PSG supporters who pay for season tickets can watch Champions League matches at no extra cost. Consequently, this means that the Parisian club has few free or available seats to manage, hence the high prices.
The ticket prices at the Parc des Princes aren’t the only issue. Albert Yarza, president of the Almogàvers Supporters, expressed his discontent with the high price that Barcelona’s members have to pay to attend the Champions League match against PSG on April 16.
Yarza notes how the price to watch the French giants against the La Liga side has skyrocketed. While tickets were available at a reasonable price, they quickly sold, leaving some supporters to pay these high costs.
