Liverpool Sensation Would Be Ideal Kylian Mbappé Replacement, Journalist Claims

With Kylian Mbappé reportedly leaving Paris Saint-Germain to possibly join Real Madrid, the capital club not only has to replace his production but also his star power.

PSG will no longer focus on signing high-profile players, but the club should still strive to recruit stars who align with their project. Loïc Tanzi from L’Equipe believes that Mohamed Salah would be a big name that fits well into PSG’s identity.

“What matters to me is to know if, sportingly, they will succeed in putting together a team that will be capable of fighting for the Champions League,” Tanzi said on La Chaine L’EQUIPE (h/t Le10Sport). “And I think it’s possible. There are very talented players, and the departure of Mbappé will free up a little space for some to flourish.

“There are very young players like Zaire-Emery who represent the future. And above all, PSG can still bring in stars. On the market, PSG will have no trouble building a talented team. Mohamed Salah, for example, would be a real star in Paris.”

Salah has a contract with Liverpool until 2025, and this could be the year that the Reds sell their star player to recoup a sum. However, there’s the other decision: to hold onto him and either extend him or have one final year before he leaves as a free agent.

Nonetheless, PSG could come in for a swoop and squeeze out two, maybe three, years of Salah’s final prime years. The Parisians will be a young team as they count on players like Bradley Barcola, Warren Zaire-Emery, and Xavi Simons, but Salah could be that veteran to help guide some of this young talent while still performing at a high level.
