Barcelona Exec Speaks Out on Pursuing PSG Transfer Target

Paris Saint-Germain will reportedly be looking for a midfielder this summer transfer window. During the January transfer window, the Parisians were linked to Bayern Munich’s Joshua Kimmich.

Kimmich’s contract with the Bundesliga side expires in 2025, and he has yet to sign a new deal. As a result, the 29-year-old could be on the move this summer if he and Bayern Munich can’t agree to a new contract.

Nonetheless, if PSG pushes for Kimmich, they’ll face competition from FC Barcelona for the German. Recently, the Spanish club’s sporting director, Deco, commented on their interest in Kimmich.

“Kimmich is another top player… but it’s also not easy to sign him,” Deco said. “Look at how much Chelsea paid for Caicedo; it’s not easy at all.”

A recent report from Germany revealed that Kimmich is dissatisfied with his role at Bayern Munich and is considering leaving next summer, as his contract expires in 2025. The German outlet adds that PSG and Barcelona are the clubs tracking the player.

The upcoming months will be intriguing to observe as we wait to see whether the midfielder opts to depart this summer, potentially fetching a fee for Bayern Munich, or chooses to leave as a free agent.
