The Kylian Mbappé transfer saga should’ve ended in 2022, according to a Eurosport journalist. With the latest installment of this novela ramping up in a few days, there’s speculation over what the Frenchman should do.
Real Madrid is again returning to lure the 25-year-old back to the Spanish capital. However, past rejections suggest that the La Lia side will take a firm stance on their offer. A past report reveals that there’s a 15-day deadline for the proposal.
A journalist believes Kylian Mbappé is bored at PSG
Maxime Dupuis, deputy editor-in-chief of the Eurosport website, believes the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner should’ve left the capital club two years ago. Los Blancos wanted the Paris Saint-Germain winger in 2022, but he chose to reject them and extend his contract.
“I’m convinced he should have left two years ago,” Dupuis said (h/t Foot01). “You can tell he’s simply bored. You have to imagine what five years is like in a player’s career. When you look at the list of the great French players of the last 15 years, when they’re still in Ligue 1 at 23, you’re very happy.
“He did it, and that’s commendable. He was born in Paris, winning the first Champions League with Paris. He wants to play on that [team], but I also think that playing for PSG is comfortable for him.
A recent report also revealed that Mbappé will stick with PSG through the 2023-24 season. The capital club is in the UEFA Champions League round of 16, so it’s unlikely the winger will decide while the Parisians are alive in this tournament. Nonetheless, this entire saga will be fascinating to follow with its twists and turns next month.
