The Kylian Mbappé transfer saga has been a rollercoaster. As a result, there’s no real clue as to what the French will decide about his future. However, there’s a possibility he will leave Paris Saint-Germain after the 2023-24 season.
If the 24-year-old has his mind playing elsewhere after this season, PSG will need to look at other names to replace the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner. The player that’s surfacing is someone that the capital club just faced.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport (h/t Le10Sport), the Parisian club is monitoring several profiles to replace him, notably that of Rafael Leão, who has just extended his contract with AC Milan.
Many would like to see Mbappé stay with his hometown club. Nonetheless, the pull of Real Madrid or possibly the Premier League could be too much to resist.
As for Leão, the Portugal international has scored three goals this season and registered four assists with AC Milan. Furthermore, the 24-year-old is under contract until 2028, and Transfermarkt puts his value at €90 million, so if he’s the guy PSG wants to replace Mbappé, it will cost them.
