Liverpool Could Pursue Real Madrid Outcast Should Kylian Mbappé Join Spanish side

If Real Madrid finally lands Kylian Mbappé this summer transfer window, it could spell the end of Rodrygo in the starting 11. The Frenchman has no interest in being a No. 9 player, which means one of the wing spots would be his.

Los Blancos appear on the verge of extending the contract of Vinícius Júnior, so if the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner arrives in the Spanish capital, he won’t be going to the bench. As a result, Rodrygo could be on the way out if he doesn’t want to be a rotational player.

Ok Diario and El Chiringuito pundit Eduardo Inda says that Liverpool could be a club to watch if the 22-year-old becomes available due to the arrival of Mbappé.

“[Jurgen] Klopp, in addition to being a great coach, loves good players,” Inda said on the set of El Chiringuito (h/t Le10Sport). “He likes a Real Madrid player, appreciated by management, but who could leave during the summer if Mbappé arrives during the summer?

“He’s a player he’s thinking of to replace Salah. The player he likes is Rodrygo. He would put it aside because it is to replace the Egyptian. If Mbappé comes, there will be several positions that will be doubled at Real Madrid.”

Salah is approaching his mid-30s, and the Premier League club will be keen on finding a long-term replacement. The winger becomes a free agent in 2025, so the following few transfer windows could be when the Reds find that player.

  1. It is worth noting that the teenager is not left-footed, with Klopp reportedly looking for a left-footed centre half for the balance of the team.
