PSG’s Mbappé Joins Cristiano Ronaldo, Romelu Lukaku In Impressive Euro 2024 Qualifying Stat

The concern for Kylian Mbappé after a four-goal scoring drought in all competitions might have been an overreaction. Mbappé scored a brace in the 2-1 win against the Netherlands in France’s UEFA Euro 2024 qualifying match.

Furthermore, the two goals, which included an impressive world-class strike from outside the box, have put the 24-year-old within striking distance of grabbing the top goal scorer crown for the Euro qualifying round.

After seven matchdays, Mbappé scored six goals, and only two players are ahead of the Frenchman. Portugal’s Cristiano Ronaldo (7) and Romelu Lukaku (9) are the players ahead of the PSG star so far.

It will be interesting to see if Mbappé plays all the remaining Euro 2024 qualifying games for France against Gibraltar and Greece. France has already punched their ticket to next summer’s tournament, so Deschamps could mix up the squad to get a look at other names.

At the very least, the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner could play against the Gibraltar national team at the Allianz Riviera in Nice on Nov. 18.
