Inter Milan’s €45M Gem Draws PSG and Manchester United into Transfer Duel

Paris Saint-Germain is likely eyeing a left-back due to Nuno Mendes’ recent surgery keeping him out for four months. The Portugal international will be out in the long term, which might mean that the capital club will have to look at options, including Inter Milan’s Federico Dimarco.

Right now, PSG has Lucas Hernandez holding down the position. However, the former Bayern Munich star can also play the left center-back role for the French giants. Furthermore, with Marquinhos’ struggles, could Hernandez need to slide into the central defense?

Calciomercato reports that the Ligue 1 giants are cited as a possible landing spot for Dimarco. The 25-year-old Italy international also has other suitors as Manchester United are considering signing the Inter Milan defender.

How much would it cost to land the player? Transfermarkt puts his value at €45 million. Nonetheless, the Serie A club isn’t keen on selling the player, so they want to offer Dimarco a long-term contract.

The player currently has a deal until 2026. Still, increased wages and term security might be enough for him to reject any interest.

From a PSG perspective, Dimarco would be competition for Mendes and security for the French side. Additionally, bringing a player of his caliber does say that there are some concerns over the 21-year-old coming off a ruptured hamstring.
