Nonetheless, the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner remained after the exits of Lionel Messi and Neymar Jr. Still, the winger is now the center of the project with more French influence.
After the 4-1 win over Olympique Lyonnais on Saturday at Groupama Stadium, Lucas Hernandez spoke to CANAL+ (h/t Paris Fans) and discussed the soap opera with Real Madrid.
“It’s more of a story between Kylian and the club,” Hernandez told the French media outlet. “There have been a lot of discussions about that. But he’s a top guy, a top player. For PSG and his teammates, it’s better to have him with than against.”
Hernandez has hit the ground running as he looks to prove himself. Furthermore, this season, the 27-year-old has connected with Mbappé in an impressive goal against RC Lens.
Mbappé has a hot streak going to start the 2023-24 season with five goals in three games. Despite the drama surrounding his future, as he’s currently playing on an expiring contract, the Frenchman continues to play at a high level.
