Paris Saint-Germain’s Kylian Mbappé might have competition for the top goal scorer in Europe’s top seven leagues for 2023. The 24-year-old had scored 20 non-penalty-kick goals this year. However, he now has competition.
ESPN Stats & Info pointed out on Twitter that Feyenoord’s Santiago Giménez completed his hat trick in Wednesday’s victory against Ajax. As a result, the 22-year-old overtook Mbappé for the most non-penalty-kick goals by any player in Europe’s top 7 leagues this calendar year.

The Frenchman is off to a hot start this 2023-24 season but has scored a couple of his goals via the penalty kick. Nonetheless, if the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner isn’t out with a serious injury, the winger will score goals out on the pitch.
Still, the Mexican international will give Mbappé a run for his money these last few months to close out 2023. There’s also the possibility that Manchester City’s Erling Haaland gets out and scores non-penalty goals in bunches.
Which goal scorer will have this impressive stat to end the year? It should be an exciting race.
