Barcelona’s Lewandowski Receives Glowing Compliment from PSG Club Chief

Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi is a football fan, considering his various roles in the sport. So, it is no surprise that he has high respect for some of the best players in their respective positions.

The PSG club chief was recently asked about his thoughts about FC Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski. Even after leaving Bayern Munich in 2022, the Polish striker continues to put up quality numbers despite being in his mid-30s.

Lewandowski scored 33 goals in all competitions last season. Meanwhile, in this campaign, the veteran isn’t slowing down. The Barcelona star has six goals for the Catalan side through nine matches in all competitions.

“It’s no secret that Lewandowski is an incredible striker,” Al-Khelaifi said. “All the clubs in the world, at some point, thought about signing him. But Robert is at Barça today and I respect it. He is a goal-scoring machine and a great guy.”

With the 35-year-old in their ranks, Barcelona lifted the 2022-23 La Liga title and currently find themselves atop the league after the club has played eight matches.

If the Spanish club wants to win back-to-back league titles and advance in the UEFA Champions League, then they’ll need the striker to keep scoring goals.
