Kylian Mbappé and Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly in talks over a contract extension. The capital club likely wants to pursue this as the 24-year-old won’t be leaving this summer transfer window.
Nonetheless, the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner holds all the negotiating power. Mbappé will become a free agent next summer. The forward opted not to trigger the option to extend his contract after 2025.
MARCA’s Ramón Álvarez reports that Mbappé has rejected a new contract extension offer from PSG in the last few hours. If the information is accurate, it’s good news for Real Madrid. The La Liga side probably wants the Frenchman to arrive as a free agent.

Still, it’s a funny coincidence that this information out of Spain comes out on the day Sky Sports News reports extension talks between the player and PSG.
The Spanish club’s manager, Carlo Ancelotti, confirmed that Real Madrid’s transfer window is over. So anyone expecting a last-minute bid might be disappointed as Los Blancos will gamble to see how this Mbappé saga plays out during this 2023-24 season and heading into next summer.
