Barcelona Midfielder Pedri Speaks Out on Reports of PSG Interest

Every summer transfer window, a couple of rumors make any football fan scratch their head. For Paris Saint-Germain, it’s the speculation over FC Barcelona’s Pedri.

According to the report, PSG would have to activate a temporary clause in Pedri’s contract, reportedly set at €110 million. However, the rumor didn’t last long, as other information would debunk this gossip. The reporting further clarified that Pedri’s release clause stands at an astounding €1 billion.

Nonetheless, the Barcelona midfielder was asked about the rumor linking him to the French giants. The 20-year-old noted that any interest goes through his representatives, but he has no desire to leave.

“I am not aware of the offers that come to me,” Pedri told La Vanguardia (h/t Mundo Deportivo). “That is received by my representatives. I tell them that if they want to listen, they should do it. And they will tell me but that I am focused on what is mine, which is to train, play and enjoy.

“But many things have to happen for me to leave this club. It would have to be very bad and very unpleasant. I see it as very unlikely, Barça is the club of my dreams, and I want to stay for many more years.”

Still, PSG is grabbing one player from the Catalan club. It’s only a matter of time until the capital club announces the arrival of Ousmane Dembélé. While it’s not Pedri, the Ligue 1 champions will have a quality winger that can help replace the production left behind by Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappé.
