Pundit Gives Key Reason Why Bernardo Silva Should Stay Away from PSG

Paris Saint-Germain is linked to Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva as a possible transfer target this summer. The 28-year-old is a player with a connection to sporting advisor Luis Campos, so it makes sense that PSG is linked to him.

However, 1998 FIFA World Cup winner Bixente Lizarazu believes PSG is not the correct destination for the Portuguese. The 53-year-old notes that Silva needs to be part of a “well-oiled” machine, which he is at Manchester City under Pep Guardiola.

“For him, no, it’s not a good idea,” Lizarazu said on Telefoot (h/t Paris Fans). “Because he needs to be in a well-oiled collective, which is not the case with Paris Saint-Germain. And he might not have the same performance as many other players in Paris.

“He is a magnificent player and magnified by the game of City, of Guardiola, which corresponds perfectly to him, with this technical quality to keep the ball, to make passes, to dribble, the game in [a] triangle and then he is able to to be a goalscorer. It is complete.”

Silva is under contract until 2025 and it seems the midfielder could be ready to try another challenge in the middle of his prime years. The former AS Monaco man would have a connection to PSG as Campos and Kylian Mbappe are on the team.

Furthermore, the Manchester City star has commented on the rumors, but he’s focusing on the 2022-23 season since the English club has a chance to win the treble.

“The program is to finish the season well, win the Premier League, try against United in the FA Cup final, and then Inter,” Silva said. “After that, this summer, we’ll see what happens.”
