Paris Saint-Germain has reportedly suspended Lionel Messi after going on an unauthorized trip to Saudi Arabia. However, the news regarding the Argentine isn’t stopping there.
New York Times reporter Tariq Panja also reported on Tuesday that the 35-year-old will be playing elsewhere for the 2023-24 season. Furthermore, Panja speculated that Messi might not even play the rest of this 2022-23 season.
Messi fined and suspended by PSG for 2 weeks for going awol so he could carry out sponsorship commitments in Saudi Arabia. Chances he won’t play for the team again. Clears up one thing: He will be playing elsewhere next season

Suppose PSG does say goodbye to Messi when his contract expires in June, that only leaves FC Barcelona as likely the only European option. However, with their financial situation, a return seems gloomy.
If the Spanish club cannot register him with La Liga, leaving Europe might be a serious option for the Argentine. The 2022 FIFA World Cup winner has been connected to two destinations outside of Europe.
Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal FC is linked to the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner; meanwhile, Inter Miami is also in the mix for the player. They also might get a boost from MLS in their attempt to land the veteran goal scorer this summer.
Nonetheless, it seems as though Messi’s time in the French capital is ending.
