At just 24 years old, Paris Saint Germain forward Kylian Mbappé has already proven himself to be one of the best goal scorers in modern football, following in the footsteps of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi as a potential GOAT. Mbappé joined PSG in a deal estimated to be worth €180 million and recently scored his 31st goal for the club in the UEFA Champions League.

Montpellier – May 2021
After being out with a hamstring injury, Mbappé was keen to prove himself back in top form in the game against Montpellier. The score was set at 1 – 1 when Killian took charge and displayed incredible agility and strength.

After Montpellier scored again in the second half, the game went to penalties. PSG went on to win 5-6 on penalties with Mbappé substituted before the shoot-out took place. This was the star’s 39th goal in 44 games.
Stade Brestois 29 – August 2021
In August of the same year, Mbappé again showed off his incredible skill in a game against Stade Brestois. The first PSG goal came from Ander Herrera with a one-strike shot.
Following this, an initial shot by Georginio Wijnaldum was blocked by a defender before Mbappé came swooping in with a header from 10 meters to score the second goal of the match unexpectedly.
The goal ended 4-2 in PSG’s favor with a third goal scored by midfielder Idrissa Gueye in the 73rd minute and a fourth from Ronael Pierre-Gabriel. This win put the Parisian team at the top of Ligue 1, having secured a maximum of nine points from three games.
Sweden – September 2020
The year previous to this, Mbappé was the star in what was a very tense game against Sweden in a Nations League A Group 3 clash. In this game, the French team was trialing a new 3-4-1-2 system with mixed results.
Forty minutes into the match, Killian took his chance. After bouncing off a defender’s legs, he powered through the right side of Sweden’s defense and caught goalkeeper Robin Olsen off guard by tucking the ball into a tight corner at the near post.
It ended in a 1 – 0 victory for the French. After the game, Mbappé praised the new system, commenting that he liked how it put him nearer the goal, and while it wasn’t perfect, it worked well for a number of players on the squad.
Amiens – December 2019
In 2019, Amiens still had never defeated PSG at the Parc des Princes in a Ligue 1 game, and this trend continued as they went head-to-head once again one evening in December.
It was just 10 minutes into the game when Thomas Meunier passed to Mauro Icardi, who then flicked the ball across to Neymar Jr. At this point, Mbappé took over and sped off at a speed no one on the pitch could match, he then chipped the ball past Amiens goalie Régis Gurtner into the net.
In this game, Mbappé showed off his trademark speed and ability to stay calm and focused at the moment.
Poland at the 2022 World Cup
Thanks to Mbappé’s valiant efforts, France booked themselves in for the 2022 World Cup quarter-finals following a 3 – 1 win over Poland. Olivier Giroud was the first to score in the beginning half of the game.
Mbappé doubled the lead when he confidently landed a strike past Wojciech Szczesny. Soon after, the player scored another, curling the ball into the top corner of the net. With this performance, Killian passed Pelé for most goals in the World Cup before the age of 24.
On the Polish side, Robert Lewandowski scored the team’s only goal, leaving the French to make their way to the quarter-finals.
Earlier this year, Mbappé scored his 201st PSG goal and surpassed Edison Cavani as the club’s top goal scorer. Then in March, the player was named the new captain of France ahead of their UEFA Euro 2024 qualifiers.
