Lionel Messi and the Argentina national team played for the first time in Buenos Aires since winning the 2022 FIFA World Cup last December in Qatar.
The South American nation defeated Panama 2-0 on Thursday at El Monumental. However, the match played a second role in the celebrations before, during and after the contest. Nonetheless, Messi sent the crowd happy by scoring late in the second half.
Messi went vintage on the goal, scoring from a free-kick play for his historical 800th career goal for club and country.
