Galtier’s Concerning Reaction After Watching PSG Allow Four Goals to Ronaldo, Riyadh All-Stars XI

Paris Saint-Germain picked up a 5-4 friendly win over the Riyadh All-Stars XI on Thursday, although it was far from a flawless performance from the reigning Ligue 1 champions. From the defensive miscues to Juan Bernat’s red card in the first half, it was not the best outing from PSG’s backline.

For PSG manager Christophe Galtier, he came away with multiple takeaways from his team’s performance against the Cristiano Ronaldo-led Riyadh All-Stars XI. In the big picture, he sees (via PSG TV) that there is plenty of room for improvement for the squad.

“There were interesting things on show given that we scored goals,” Galtier said after the match. “There are also things that we are going to need to improve, I am thinking particularly about set-pieces. It allows us to establish areas to work on. It had also been a long time since we had everyone out on the pitch. When everyone is available, there are real positives.

“At the same time, there will be things to work on.”

PSG was just days removed from its lowly performance on Ligue 1 matchday 19 when it came away with a 1-0 loss to Rennes. Now, PSG sure will look to get back on track in its upcoming Coupe de France round of 32 clash against Pays de Cassel coming up on Monday.
