‘Absolute Madness’ – FC Dallas Star Excited at Possibility of Lionel Messi Coming to MLS

The future of Lionel Messi will likely come down to two destinations. The Argentine can extend his contract, remain with Paris Saint-Germain, or begin a new adventure in the United States by joining Major League Soccer’s Inter Miami.

Messi’s contract with PSG expires in June, but the 35-year-old is reportedly expected to decide soon on his future. However, the prospect of having the 2022 FIFA World Cup winner in MLS excites FC Dallas forward Alan Velasco.

The 20-year-old from Buenos Aires believes that Messi playing in MLS would be “absolute madness.” Velasco is right in his opinion, considering ticket prices at various stadiums across the league will be in high demand to see the veteran.

“It would be absolute madness for Messi to come to MLS,” Velasco said. “I want to, but now he’s at PSG and I suppose he’ll be happy. So whatever makes him happy is welcome. I’m Argentine; we love Leo, so the best for him always.”

Nonetheless, Messi showed at the World Cup in Qatar that he can still play at a high level and the PSG star might want to have multiple attempts at winning another UEFA Champions League trophy.

It will be interesting to see what Messi decides to do, but there’s no doubt either side is going to be happy if they secure his services.
