Report: France’s Projected Starting 11 for the World Cup Matchup vs. England – Where Will Mbappe Play?

The France national team is set to meet England in the 2022 FIFA World Cup Quarterfinal round on Saturday. France will be led by Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe, who is just coming off of a quality performance against Poland in the round of 16 where he scored a pair of goals.

As noted by Ligue 1’s official website, France national team manager Didier Deschamps could once again call on Mbappe to slot into the left wing role for Les Bleus.

Mbappe took hold of the left wing role in France’s 3-1 win over Poland. The PSG star wound up completing six successful dribbles and also created two goal-scoring chances for teammates in the contest.

In France’s upcoming clash with England, Mbappe may go on to face off against Manchester City full-back Kyle Walker out on the flanks. The two have plenty of history with each other, including their duels in the two UEFA Champions League group stage fixtures between Manchester City and PSG last season.

The winner of this meeting between France and England will face either Portugal or Morocco in the World Cup semifinal round.
