The France national team has dealt with several injuries heading into the 2022 FIFA World Cup and even faced adversity in their first matchup against Australia. However, Kylian Mbappe and the squad would come away with the 4-1 win on Tuesday.
Along with Mbappe, Atletico Madrid’s Antoine Griezmann and FC Barcelona’s Ousmane Dembele are being counted on offensively to help replace the production they expected to receive from Karim Benzema, who missed the World Cup due to injury.
While speaking with reporters, Dembele told reporters what it’s like to play alongside the two as the trio improves their chemistry as the tournament continues.
“They are two great players; they combine and find themselves on the pitch a lot,” Dembele said (h/t Paris Fans). “They are two executives of the team.”
France is in the driver’s seat and could book its ticket to the knockout stages. Les Bleus will face Denmark on Saturday, who tied 0-0 with Tunisia and a win over the Danes guarantees them one of the two spots for the Round of 16 as the team looks to win back-to-back World Cups.
