It’s been over a year since Lionel Messi departed FC Barcelona, and despite many lamenting his exit, some might soon forget the Argentine, at least temporarily.
On Wednesday, Robert Lewandowski scored a hat-trick for the Spanish club against FC Viktoria Plzeň. After the match, there was plenty of discussion about the performance of the Polish striker.
During a segment from the Spanish program El Chiringuito, journalist Jose Alvarez stated on the show that many in the Camp Nou are reminded of Messi whenever Lewandowski has the ball and is prepared to shoot.
“But it is that for me the sensation that I have lived in the Camp Nou every time that Lewandowski shot on goal,” Alvarez said. “It reminded me and reminded many people of whom they had when he touched it. Yes, Leo Messi.
“That is to say, that feeling of danger that every time he shoots on goal, it’s a goal, reminds us here of Leo Messi. Therefore, I also add Leo Messi to the equation, and it has been absolute madness.”
