A recent report from L’Equipe reveals that Paris Saint-Germain has held conversations with Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford. ESPN’s Julien Laurens confirmed the information and added more to the interest of the French giants.
Laurens states that PSG needs a player who can play on the wing or as a No. 9. Rashford is keen on a new challenge one year before his contract with The Red Devils expires.
Despite both parties having talks, the current Ligue 1 champions have not held discussions yet with Manchester United. Although Rashford has one year on his deal, Laurens adds the Premier League club has an option to trigger another year in the England international’s contract.
As a result, the 24-year-old would have two years left on his current deal, making a transfer more expensive. It will be interesting to see if both these clubs will begin discussions over a possible transfer.
It likely will depend on if Erik Ten Hag values the forward as part of his project with Manchester United. If the Dutch tactician is open to letting Rashford go, then perhaps dialogue can begin to pick up.
