Paris Saint-Germain remains on the lookout for any club that is willing to take in Mauro Icardi. The Ligue 1 powerhouse could have that club in Juventus.
According to La Repubblica, Juventus is aiming to sign a forward to bolster its depth upfront. Among the players who Juventus has on its transfer shortlist for such a move is Icardi.
The report adds that Juventus is “thinking about” Icardi, who still has two more years remaining on his current contract at PSG. This comes as Juventus club officials have “always” had a “soft spot” for the Argentine striker.
Overall, Icardi is open to making a return to Serie A. He shined during his respective runs at Sampdoria and Inter Milan in the last decade, which included scoring at least 20 goals in three different Serie A campaigns.
Multiple roadblocks could emerge in the case that Juventus elects to make a push to sign Icardi. For one, he is reportedly on a €10 million net per year deal, and he has no intention of lowering his salary to facilitate a transfer move.
The wait continues on whether Icardi will end up staying put at PSG past the ongoing summer transfer window.
