Lionel Messi turned out to be the most-talked-about player in Ligue 1 this past season. While he did not regularly churn out vintage performances over the campaign, much attention sure centered on him, whether he was playing at the Parc des Princes or any other stadium in France’s top-flight.
For the Argentine forward, he had multiple moments that stood out to him over his debut season in Ligue 1, which he touched on to PSG TV.
“I experienced a lot of firsts with Paris,” Messi said. “I remember my first appearance in Reims. There was also my first at the Parc des Princes which was very strong. Then there was my first league goal against Nantes.”
The Paris Saint-Germain forward tallied 20 goal contributions over the season, with six goals and 14 assists. It was far from the season many expected out of him, but at the least, he did finish the campaign on a promising note thanks to the eight total goal contributions recorded over his last eight matches played.
All eyes sure will be centered on whether Messi will up his goal-scoring production next season.
