PSG Transfer Target States His Desire to Remain With Barcelona

Paris Saint-Germain will be in the market to improve their midfield this summer. Various names are surfacing that incoming sporting director Luis Campos is looking at strengthening the position.

One name that is linked to the capital club is FC Barcelona’s Frenkie de Jong, who could be on the move as Manchester United are also keen on the 25-year-old. However, despite rumors of a departure, the Netherlands international doesn’t want to exit.

In an interview with Dutch newspaper AD, de Jong made it clear that he desires to remain at the Camp Nou, where he’s under contract until 2026.

“If there was something concrete, I would have heard it from the management of FC Barcelona. If I was called by another club? I can’t say, but I prefer to stay in Barcelona,” de Jong said. “But it’s not like I regretted my choice, certainly not. Barcelona has always been my dream club, ever since I was young. This is always the case.”

If de Jong wants to stay in Barcelona and his heart is with the Spanish club, then PSG and Campos would be wise to steer clear of the Netherlands international this summer. The French giants need to bring players who desire to make history in Paris, which is why Kylian Mbappe extended his contract.
